Angie Brown vs Asha Keys- I'm Gonna Get You (EP)
London, 14 August 2008 - 00:00
"Bizarre Inc" had a huge club classic called "Playing With Knives", and were also very successful DJ’s in their own right. But they needed a female vocalist to cross them over into the national charts. After meeting Angie, at an audition, she then went on to record a choon with ‘Bizarre Inc’ in the studio… It became a big hit, and ‘I'm Gonna Get You' was born, hyped and mixed to cater for all tastes.
‘I’m Gonna Get You", entered the UK National charts at #17 and when it was actually released, it rested at #2. Overall sales in the UK alone including compilations were 300,000 and in other territories around the world sales have been over 2 million.
Angie’s latest musical venture is the imminent re-lease of her house classic ‘I’m Gonna Get You’. At long last this dance floor favourite, has been re-sung, re-mixed and has received a brand new elegant makeover, which is most refreshing. ‘I’m Gonna Get You’ which is due for release on ‘Thirteen[rec]’ (official release date of Monday September 29, 2008), with Producer Asha Keys. Who has given the classic a new feel, which stands out, and captures a funky, fresh, smooth, almost Latino summery vibe, to be enjoyed by all.
This EP will also be supported by a number of remixes by producers Jake Cymo and J-Level both of whom have been gaining increased visibility and celebrity in the electronic and dance scenes.
The Luv Nrg Radio Edit and Mix
Asha Keys’ (AKA JourneyMan) is going all the way down to Deep House and all the way up in a soaring, uplifting reworking of the classic 90s acid house club anthem, extending it and raising it to a new level that's great for radio and great for the dance floor.
Jake Cymo Main Mix
The genre-defying remix is prepared to obliterate main rooms. The remix steadily builds tension with its dark techno, until crashing down with huge atmospheric chords. Jake Cymo's trademark vocal treatments take the timeless vocals into more exotic territories. It’s very much in tune with the current trends out of Toronto (think deadmau5, Glenn Morrison, Adam K, ect.) that are dominating the charts right now. That sound combined with the stripped-down minimalistic approach, gives this remix a cutting-edge sound that sounds very now.
J-Level Mix
J-level provides a completely new spin on this club classic. This breakbeat mix is driven by a deep bassline and powerful beats, with typical J-Level atmospherics bringing the track to life. Angie Browns timeless vocal hook sits perfectly in amongst the constantly morphing music, providing the listener with a dance floor smash of a tune that will bring memories of 1993 flooding back as if it was yesterday.
Jake Cymo Melodic Edit
For those with shorter attention spans, "Melodic Edit" cuts straight to the chase, featuring the powerful melodies of the "Main Mix." The vocals glide seamlessly over the smooth chords.
Jake Cymo Main Dub
The dub version of Jake Cymo's Main Mix brings the track’s powerful melodies to the forefront.
Waves of energy build and release, creating an infectious vibe on the dance floors.
Jake Cymo Underground Mix
A harder techno reworking of the track by Jake Cymo. More appealing to the underground and darker sounds of the dancefloor.
The Cool Nine Jazz Mix
A more jazzy laid back and piano filled remix, perfect for a chilled bar groove, or beach party..
